“The Rescue was inspired by my curiosity to foreign government activities in my country, in particular the Namru-2 (Naval Medical Research Unit 2) Project ran by the United States Government. The film questioning the readiness of our defence forces in the case of a state of emergency arising from a breakdown of such operation. The filming of this movie was fuly supported by GEGANA, Indonesia's National Police special force. Our actors received proper and intensive training for one week. We shot the movie in the old part Jakarta, under the supervision of Brian Yuzna. This movie is dedicated to my father, a real action movie fan.” - Raditya Sidharta

Brian Yuzna is well known in the world of genre filmmaking. He is best known for his involvement in the Re-Animator series, The Dentist, Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, Crying Freeman and most recently the Fantastic Factory productions in Spain.
As a long time aficionado of fantastic films (horror, science fiction, thriller, fantasy) I have been impressed by the horror thrillers being produced in Japan, Korea and Thailand that were finding success internationally. There was something new coming out of Asia that was resonating with film fans all over the world and I wanted to be a part of it. Takut: Faces of Fear represents Komodo Films' philosophy of bringing together accomplished masters with emerging young talent in order to create a unique brand of fantastic films."
